Welcome to the South Florida Asthma Consortium

The South Florida Asthma Consortium (SouthFloridaAsthma.org) comprises the counties of Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe, and Palm Beach. The mission of South Florida Asthma Consortium is to be the clearinghouse for information on Asthma for the South Florida Region.

The SouthFloridaAsthma Consortium is comprised of professionals from all different sectors of the health and medical communities. Our goals is to provide you with information that will enable all individuals to better address Asthma. There is information here for the medical community, for family members and teachers, and for individuals that live with Asthma on a daily basis. We hope that you will find the information on this site to be helpful in your dealings with Asthma. If there is some information that you can not find or think that we should include, please let us know.

May is Asthma Awareness Month and May 1, 2012 is World Asthma Day May is Asthma Awareness Month!

In recognition of World Asthma Day, which falls on May 1, 2012, the South Florida Asthma Consortium is asking the community to participate in an “Asthma Awareness Survey”.

What triggers asthma? How many people have asthma? How do you get it, and can you outgrow it? How can you manage it? These are a few questions you may have about asthma, a chronic disease which has reached epidemic numbers.

This purpose of the survey is to find out the public’s general knowledge of the most chronic childhood disease in the U.S. The South Florida Asthma Consortium comprises the counties from Monroe, Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. The mission is to be the clearinghouse for information on Asthma for the South Florida Region. The Consortium is comprised of professionals from all different sectors of the medical and health communities. The goals are to provide the community with information that will enable all individuals to better address Asthma. Please take the on-line survey, and find out just how much you know about Asthma.
