May is Asthma Awareness Month and May 7, 2013 is World Asthma Day May is Asthma Awareness Month! In recognition of World Asthma Day, which falls on May 7, 2013, the South Florida Asthma Consortium is asking the community to participate in a variety of community efforts to expand our understanding of asthma and the importance of keeping ones asthma under control. You can download and post our poster (Download Asthma Month Poster Now to celebrate Asthma Awareness Month and take part in our “Asthma Awareness Survey”. How do you get it, and can you outgrow it? How can you manage it? These are a few questions you may have about asthma, a chronic disease which has reached epidemic numbers. This purpose of the survey is to find out the public’s general knowledge of the most chronic childhood disease in the U.S. The South Florida Asthma Consortium comprises the counties from Monroe, Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. The mission is to be the clearinghouse for information on Asthma for the South Florida Region. The Consortium is comprised of professionals from all different sectors of the medical and health communities. The goals are to provide the community with information that will enable all individuals to better address Asthma. Please take the on-line survey, and find out just how much you know about Asthma.
